Executive Chairman

Paul is a Non-Executive Director of NASDAQ-listed Net1 UEPS Technologies Inc, and was formerly Group CEO of MTN Ltd, Africa’s largest cell phone operator; Group CEO of Johnnic Holdings Ltd; Chairman of Johnnic Communications Ltd; Founding President of Measat Broadcast Bhd (Malaysia), Executive Vice-President of Star TV in Hong Kong; Chief Executive of what is today called DST MultiChoice, Africa’s leading satellite TV broadcaster; Chairman and CEO of ITC, South Africa's largest credit bureau and Head of Banking Software Solutions at Spenser Steward Advisory Services.

Paul is also a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business and a past member of the Council of the Belfer Center at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and EDS Europe's Advisory Board. He is also a current director of J.A.M, one of Africa's leading NGO's.

Charles Gill

Chief Operating Officer

Charles is Chief Operating Officer of EMP Group and an Executive Director of each of the Group’s businesses.

Before joining the EMP Group, he undertook a range of senior positions at Barclays, Standard Bank and Visa, specializing in retail banking, cards and payments.

The majority of his more than twenty years of experience has been spent in emerging markets including India, Russia and several African countries.

Naeem Kola

Chief Financial Officer

Naeem is CFO of EMP Group and an Executive Director of each of the Group’s businesses.

He joined EMP Group in January 2012 and has over 15 years finance experience including direct experience in the payments sector working in leading organizations in the Middle East and South Africa.

Before joining EMP Group, Naeem worked for Network International (Dubai), KPMG, Nedcor Bank (investment banking – South Africa) and in the banking and transaction services team of PwC.

Murat Ozulku

CEO, Financial Payments Solutions and MD, EMP Africa

Murat Ozulku is the Financial Payments Solutions CEO of Emerging Markets Payment (EMP) since January 2014. Before joining EMP, Mr. Ozulku was the Managing Director and the Head of Transactional Banking Services at Citibank, East Africa cluster based in Kenya since 2011; where he was responsible for corporate and commercial banking client segments in the region. With over 20 years of experience in the banking industry, Mr. Ozulku has a solid career path, holding various roles within diverse geographical presence of Citibank around the world including; Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He held various seniors roles as Vice Chairman, Board Member, General Manager and Chief Operations Officer covering all customer and product business segments in different capacities within the last 19 years of service in Citigroup. Mr. Ozulku completed his Bachelor of Science in Industrial engineering and also holds an MBA with honors degrees. Mr. Ozulku is married with two sons.

Hassan Mayassi

CEO, Acquiring Payments Solutions and MD, EMP Jordan

Before joining EMP, Hassan was Vice President of Acquiring for Network International, the Gulf's largest payments company. During his time at Network he drove market share from 27% to over 60%.

Hassan has had a very successful career in the payments industry in the Gulf, where he was Head of Merchant Services for Mashreq Bank.

Hamish Houston

CEO, Retail Payment Solutions and MD, EMP Southern Africa

Hamish has spent more than 8 years within the RPS business - prior to being appointed CEO in January 2015, Hamish had spent the last few years as COO of the company. The majority of his career has been focused on the commercialisation of new technologies and the development of new markets, both in Europe and Africa. Hamish holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town and sits on the UCT Graduate School of Business Alumni Board.
